Arrrrr!!! Pirate Museum Planned For Atlanta
Kevin Rowson
ATLANTA — Centennial Olympic Park may be invaded by pirates. An Atlanta businessman and lawyer says he plans to build a pirate museum to add to a growing list of attractions in the park.
Richard Lea, an avid treasure hunter, wants to turn his passion into an exhibit for young and old. It would join the Georgia Aquarium and recently approved College Football Hall of Fame.
Lea purchased a tract of land on Ivan Allen Boulevard across the street from the Aquarium. He bought the former Good Samaritan Health Center for about $2.5-million.
Lea discussed his plans with 11-Alive News at his law office in Buckhead. If you walk into his office you feel like you’re walking into a museum.
