GLASS EXHIBIT TO OPEN AT THE WORKS

NEWARK — The Works Gallery at The Works Museum in downtown Newark will feature an exhibit of art glass by nationally known glassblower Sam Drumgoole starting Friday.

The opening reception for the exhibit will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the gallery. Admission to the reception and exhibit is free.

“Sam Drumgoole: Redemption” is the title of the exhibit, representing what Drumgoole calls “rebirth, deliverance and reclamation.” The exhibit, which will continue through March, will feature a variety of Drumgoole’s hand-sculpted and blown glass, as well as his two-dimensional reflective works.

While visiting The Works, Drumgoole will present a lecture/ demonstration from 10 a.m. to noon Feb. 6. He also will demonstrate his glassblowing skills at Cocktails by the Fire, an annual fundraising event at The Works from 7 to 10 p.m. Feb. 6. Preregistration is required for both events.
